Paphos new Mayor Mr Fedonos is a man in a big hurry with an awesome weight of responsibility on his youthful shoulders.

The Mayor is tasked with cleaning up the scandal-hit municipality and preparing the town for its prestigious spell as the European capital of culture in 2017, just two years away.

The clean-up is both literal and figurative. The Town Hall was bustling with activity when the Cyprus Sunday Mail visited this week in the wake of Fedonos’ election last Sunday. Employees were clearing out desks and cupboards and removing sacks of rubbish.

Minthis Hills Golf Resort is pleased to announce that the European Golf Association has once again chosen Cyprus and Minthis Hills Golf Club to host the 2015 EGA Men’s Club Trophy.

The European Men’s Club Trophy Championship, an important event in the European Golf Association calendar, will take place on the 23nd and 24th October 2015, with a practice day on the 22nd.

New Airline called "Blue Air" opens base in Cyprus

After announcing a new operational base in Cyprus, economy airliner Blue Air has confirmed 2,000 bookings for its new flight routes to Athens and Thessaloniki.

During a media conference in Nicosia on Thursday the airliner said that from April this year it will start operating daily flights from Larnaca to Athens and thrice-weekly flights to Thessaloniki.

Chief Compliance Officer of Blue Air, Tudor Constantinescu thanked Cypriot travellers for the trust they have placed in the airliner which has been flying them to Bucharest for the past seven years.

“We wish to return this trust by offering the people of Cyprus the opportunity of travelling to other destinations in a safe and affordable manner”.

Constantinescu added that Blue Air will be expanding its Cyprus operational base and announcing other new flight routes later in the year.
